Handlooms Strategy

  • Strengthening of working capital base for Primary Weavers’ Co-operative societies to develop modernization of looms, accessories, training of weavers, marketing support and design interventions. 
  • Organization of handloom clusters for implementation of developmental skills to boost production and sales of handloom fabrics through the members of the societies.
  • Promotion of Handloom exports.
  • Construction of Workshed-cum-Housing, Health packages to weavers, Bunakar Bima Yojana, Interest subsidy to PWCS on NABARD assisted loans are in operations in KBK districts in collaboration with Govt. of India.
  • Handloom and craft development of rural artisans in KBK districts.


Sericulture Strategy

  • Self-employment opportunities to the tribal and BPL families.
  • Plantation of trees like Assan and Arjun for utilization in silkworm rearing and production of tassar coccons.
  • Up-gradation of degraded forest land for tassar culture.
  • Mulberry silkworm in-door activities providing periodical income to the sericulture farmers round the year.
  • Growing castor plants in wild or cultivable farms for rearing of silkworms to provide additional income through Ericulture.
